07 Oct

I am very proud that the machines hosting my Web site and e-mail are fully eco-friendly!

wind-energy-emblem

Since generating wind energy on site isn’t feasible, we’re offsetting all of our electricity use with wind-generated Renewable Energy Certificates, which prevent the release of 2,660 metric tons of carbon dioxide from entering the atmosphere each year.

That figure is staggering when you consider the estimated yearly benefit to the environment is equivalent to any one of the following:

* planting approximately 2,390 acres of trees
* not driving 6.1 million miles
* removing 510 cars from the road

If you are comming from Tokyo station, this is the JR line information:

When you arrive to shinagawa station, use the East exit and take left to the bus station. Reach to bus stop number 8 and take the bus to immigration bureau. When you step in the bus you need to pay 200yen, so prepare it in advance because the queue will be very long.

It is my first time to join an IEEE conference and I am pretty impressed of the organization and the banquet.
In the banquet, there were 3 or 4 shows of traditional Japanese songs and dances. We had a very long speech of organizers. They kept us waiting for an hour in front of the food without letting us touch it.
